The Lego Batman Movie is directed by Chris McKay and features the voices of Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, and Ralph Fiennes. The plot of the movie is Bruce Wayne must not only deal with the criminals in Gotham City but also the responsibility of raising a boy he adopted. I was really looking forward to this movie after reading so many good reviews for it. Also, I am a big Batman fan. After having watched the movie I don’t understand all the praise this movie is getting. I found it to be very disappointing. The humor in this movie is terrible. There were some joke that worked, but for the most part, it felt like all of the jokes in this movie were for kids, unlike other animated movies that realize they have to entertain the adults as well. Will Arnett was fine as the voices of Batman he didn’t do anything that I thought was funny, but he wasn’t annoying. When they made jokes about the previous Batman Movies I did find those funny because as I stated before I’ve been a fan of this character for a long time. So it was cool to see a movie that understood what to make fun of when it comes to Batman. If you’re like me and hate pop culture references in movies this movie will annoy the hell out of you because there is a lot. Also, this movie has the most annoying version of Robin that we have ever gotten and that character is where a lot of the stupid humor comes from. I did like what they did with the Joker he just wants Batman to admit that Batman loves to fight him and Batman needs him to make him feel complete and Batman can’t do that and what they do with that is funny that was one of my favorite parts of the movie. 2 out of 5 stars for The Lego Batman Movie. I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope it helped you decide whether to see this movie or not.
