Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, and Andy Serkis. The plot of the movie is T’Challa, after the death of his father, the king of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed the throne and take his rightful place as king. Not only is this not a very good Marvel movie it’s a bad movie in general. The biggest downfall of this movie is that really nothing happens and there is nothing that the movie achieves. Basically, the only thing that comes from this movie is the fact that Wakanda as a country goes public. They let people know that they are going to help out and that is literally all that this two-hour film accomplishes. All of the actors give good performances, but I didn’t feel invested in any of the characters. Chadwick Boseman’s character T’Challa has no arc or interesting development. The only thing that he develops is the fact that he wants to be a good king and be better than his father. Michael B. Jordan plays Eric Killmoger the villain of the film. He doesn’t do anything interesting and is one of the least intimidating villains that I have seen in a while. The action scenes in this film are so poorly shot and edited they are not entertaining to watch. The only two positive things I can say about Black Panther are that the visuals are amazing and the performances are great. 1 out of 5 stars for Black Panther. I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope it helped you decide whether to see the movie or not.
