HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA MOVIE REVIEW

Hotel Transylvania is directed by Genndy Tartakovsky and stars Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade, and CeeLo Green. The plot of the movie is Dracula, who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, goes into overprotective mode when a boy discovers the resort and falls for the count’s teenaged daughter.    This movie came out in 2012 and when I first saw that Adam Sandler was involved I dreaded going to see it. This movie ended up being a pleasant surprise. The voice Acting is fantastic Adam Sandler is great as Dracula he did have a lot of funny lines and I liked the relationship between him and his daughter. Dracula’s daughter Mavis (voiced by Selena Gomez) wants to get out of the hotel and see the world and her father doesn’t want this. Selena Gomez did a great job and she made her character easy to like. Andy Samberg was the person that surprised me the most because he usually plays very quirky stupid imbeciles and it is extremely annoying, but here thankfully he found a way to make it work. Also, I liked the relationship that develops between his character Jonathan and Mavis.   I hated CeeLo Green as the Mummy he made the character so annoying.  I find Kevin James to be irritating in most of the stuff I have seen him in. Just like Andy Samberg, I was surprised that I did not hate him in this movie and he ended up being one of my favorites.    This being a kids more you are going to get a lot of silly humor and some of the jokes are very stupid, but most of the jokes work. Easily the best joke of the movie is when they make fun of Twilight.  Yes, the story is a bit predictable, but The majority of the characters are likable and a lot of the jokes do work.  4 out of 5 stars for Hotel Transylvania. I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope it helped you decide whether to see the movie or not.

  1. Wow! That’s an amazing review. I have to watch it with my kids. Soon we will finish watching all the episodes by Andrew Yeatman on Netflix and then we have all the time in the world. I am still going to look for the similar kids’ content for the kids because it is entertaining and very educating.
