Goosebumps is directed by Rob Letterman and stars Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Amy Ryan, Ryan Lee, and Jillian Bell. The plot of the movie is a teenager teams up with the daughter of young adult horror author R. L. Stine after the writer’s imaginary demons are set free on the town of Madison, Delaware. As a kid, the Goosebumps books were one of my favorite things to read and when they made the TV series I enjoyed that as well. I had a lot of fun watching this movie. This is a fast-paced movie. It feels like it flows very fast. There is never a dull moment in this movie. It is a very fun scary movie that families can enjoy. It’s a movie that kids can enjoy and hopefully get into reading the books and the adults aren’t going to be bored because there are plenty of fun sequences to keep you interested in it. I did enjoy the acting in the film the main character Zach played by Dylan Minnette does a great job as does the girl who plays the daughter of R. L. Stine and I liked watching their relationship develop as the film went on. I really enjoyed Jack Black as R. L. Stine. I think he added a lot to the character. He was cold and dark but funny in just the right ways. My only negative with the film is that some of the CGI on the monsters looks bad. 4 out of 5 stars for Goosebumps. I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope it helped you decide whether to see the movie or not.
